A movie theater, movie theatre, picture theatre, film theater or cinema is a venue, usually a building, for viewing motion pictures ("movies" or "films").

Most movie theaters are commercial operations catering to the general public, who attend by purchasing a ticket. The movie is projected with a movie projector onto a large projection screen at the front of the auditorium. Some movie theaters are now equipped for digital cinema projection, removing the need to create and transport a physical film print.

Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman are abysmal in their roles but Will Smith keeps his cool as usual and will probably not get hurt from making this movie since some people might actually think it to be cool even though you will probably find it in the bargain bins unusually fast after the first DVD release later this year I assume You can probably buy it cheap next summer but I recommend against it There is a twist in the story involving another being with super strength but I m not going to spoil that surprise since some people might get annoyed Will Smith has made many sub par sci fi movies and even though this is more a superhero movie than sci fi it reminded me of movies he has made that I found promising but disappointing as well Hancock is even on a lower standard than Independence Day 1996 I Robot 2004 and I am Legend 2007 movies I was slightly disappointed with but found to have some redeeming qualities it s more like Wild Wild West 1999 that ab…

Is there a decent movie theatre at the midpoint of Fremont and San Ramon/Dublin?
Q. I have a friend living in Fremont, whereas I live in San Ramon/Dublin. Is there a decent movie theatre at the midpoint of where I live and where he lives? Like 15~20 min. away from each of our houses?

How many decibels does the average movie theatre have?
Q. I enjoy going to the movies, but I don't want to damage my hearing. If the theatre is bad for your hearing, will earplugs help? I appreciate any and all answers. =)

A. And what's the worst possible bit of sound in theaters? Is it the explosions in the big special effects sequences? The screams of the victims in the latest horror flick? No, it's the totally unneccessary 'swiiish BOOM' used to punctuate scenes in the trailers. Drives me bananas. A few years ago, the theaters and the studios wised up that the noise level in the trailers was too high, and they toned it down. But lately it's been climbing again. It's unneeded, serves no real purpose, and damages hearing. It ought to be banned.
